Is there any way of passing through a field filter to another dashboard if they have different field names?

I've tried using an action button, with the action of 'Open Qlikview document' and have 'Transfer State' and 'Apply state on top of current ticked', but don't want to have to rename the field in the master tab if avoidable- -if there is any way at all of doing this that would be fantastic (avoiding macros would be preferred!).

You could do this using the URL to pass the selection. Basically you take the selections from Listbox1 in Document1 and then pass the selections to Document2 into Listbox2. The thread below shows how to do this:

Passing Parameters in a URL and Document Chaining

Thanks for this Josh - in my case I was hoping to do it offline for testing, and the dashboards I am using have been designed not to use the AJAX plugin, but this is very interesting nonetheless!
