HI guys first of all thanks for any help.

Dropbox - qlikview.xlsm

Attached is small file with a few dates and a duration collum.

the actual file I use is a time stamp not sure if this will make a difference.

in the file there are faults detected one day and cleared another, in actual fact this is unlikely but does happen so needs to be accounted for. when i put a calender in and select for example the 1/02/2013 the graphs show nothing as there isnt a 01/02/2013 in the spreadsheet howrver there are assets out on this date and i would like my graph to show them.

the graphs purpose is to show how many assets are offline at any time and is obviosuly not very good if it doesnt take account of this

You can probably use an interval match approach to solve your issue.

Henric posted some details in his technical design blog post series, e.g.

http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2013/04/04/intervalmatch

Hope this helps,

Stefan

edit: 'event table' might just be a calendar table
