nedd help in Root folder and Mounted folder please

Hi,

I have a Root Folder(QVDocuments Live) and one Mounted Folder in Document folders in QMC . Can I attach another Root folder. If so, I have ServerCounters.pgo,Caldata.pgo,BoorrowedCAL.pgo,Tickets.pgo in Root Folder(QVDocuments Live)

Can I have the same pgo files in newly created Root folder. Please could anyone let me know this.

No, you can only have one root folder, but you can add as many mounted folders as you want. Mounted folders do not have to be in the root folder. See this discussion.

As a rule I will create a folder called Root on the Data drive of the server (typically a 😧 drive) and re-point the root folder mount to here. This folder will only contain the .pgo files etc., I do not place any documents in here or create any other folders.

Alongside the root folder I create folders for all the logical groupings of documents, such as a System folder for Ops Monitor etc., then folders for each of the business units eg. Sales, HR, etc.. Each of these can then be mounted separately in QMC.

The advantage of doing things this way is it reduces the chance of rogue documents finding their way onto Access Point by being put in a location that people don't realise is published (which can happen with sub-folders) and a folder mount can be turned on or off in QMC - to remove documents from Access Point without physically moving any files.

You are correct though, a series on the things that are not very exciting and are rarely covered - but can make a big difference to an implementation would be a good idea.
