How to compare dates against Master Calendar dates?

Can someone please help correct my expression?

I want to graph average charges by MonthYear dimension. I created a master calendar based on the DOS date, which derives the MonthYear dimension. However I have 3 additional dates in my dataset: Last Pay Date, Last Adj Date and First Pay Date. I want to compare these dates against the master calendar dates.

If the Last Pay Date OR the Last Adj Date fall within the MonthYear based on the DOS date, I want to graph the average charges.

Here is what I have so far for my bar chart (please see attached app), but it doesn’t work.

Dimension: MonthYear

Expression:

Avg({<Year=, Quarter=, Month=, [Last Pay Date]={"=$(=Concat(DISTINCT chr(39) & [%DOS] & chr(39),','))"}>
+ <Year=, Quarter=, Month=, [Last Adj Date]={"=$(=Concat(DISTINCT chr(39) & [%DOS] & chr(39),','))"}> } [$ Charge])
