    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;We can successfully open in server using the desktop software on the server machine by putting in the qvp://servername address.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I cannot find any documentation anywhere suggesting what needs to be specified to created a DNS entry associated with qvp://servername.&amp;nbsp; Any suggestions?&amp;nbsp; I want to be able to open in server from my local machine desktop copy.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;In principle it should be sufficient to use a&lt;EM&gt; fully qualified domain name&lt;/EM&gt; or valid&lt;EM&gt; IP &lt;/EM&gt;of your server (instead of &lt;EM&gt;servername&lt;/EM&gt;, which uses WINS), like&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;qvp://10.10.0.1&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;or &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;qvp://qvserver.example.com&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;(Both are just samples).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Of course your desktop computer must be able to connect / route to your server and the appropriate ports need to be open:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A _jive_internal="true" class="loading" href="https://community.qlik.com/thread/46096"&gt;http://community.qlik.com/thread/46096&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
