issue when both expression and dimension having same column

Hi,

I am new to qlikview please bear with me if some silly issue.

I am trying to create a chart with difference of sum of current and last month.e.g for below data i should get 6000 for month 7 selected

country	sales	month
japan	1000	5
japan	8000	6
japan	2000	6
japan	10000	7
france	6000	7

using below expression and dimension as month

=sum({$<month={'$(=only(month))'}>} sales)-sum({$<month={'$(=only(month)-1)'}>} sales)

I am getting the values equal to current month 16000 and previous months sum -10000 while i am getting correct results if i am taking dimension as some constant 'c'.Can anybody please explain this behaviour .

Hi,

U can change the dimension name ... n use that expression... change the dimension label when showing in reports.
