Hi

I'm a QlikView newbie and have been trying to get a better idea of the best ways of being able to look at data over time when we don't use calender years but our year runs from April-March. For example I've seen an example in set analysis of comparing the year selected with the previous year. To get the current year's (Sales) data the expression used is:

Sum({$<Year={$(=Only(Year))}>}LineSalesAmount)

but obviously this assumes a calender year is being used.

I'm assuming that there is a way to get round this in the expression itself (?) but is it easier to have some sort of lookup table that assigns months to differnt years? Some advise would be really helpful as everything I've seen so far seems geared up for calender years and as I'll never be using these I'm looking for the most efficient way forward.

Many thanks
