Hi QlikView Gurus,

I come from Business Object background. In BO, report creators and developers have a logical separation in roles. The developers define a universe (a logical layer of data representation). A report creator, who may have no technical knowledge to work with database, then creates the report base on the universe by dragging and drop objects into a report. By doing so, developers are reliefed from detailed report creation and able to focus more on the data modeling.

I'm currently evaluating QlikView for my team. With my very limited two days playing around, I found that QlikView requires scripting in orders to retrieve data from a database. This is going to be a burden for the developer. I might be wrong due to the limited knowledge about the tool. Could anyone please enlighten me on this?

Thanks in advance.

GM.
