How to retain format when clone charts

I need to create identical pivot tables for 30 pairs of vars. I thought I'd format the first one to my liking (e.g. Presentation/Number parameters) then clone it 29 times and change only the dimensions. But I notived that the formats are not carried over in the clones. Is there a switch that I can turn on somewhere?

I later found out that it *did* retain the format.

Oh more to the story –

I see that once I change my *dimension vars* some chart settings go back to default. So the updated question -how can I retain the chart settings in a clone while I need to select other vars as dimensions?
