    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Dear all,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would know if there is a way to avoid format&amp;nbsp; number conversion in Excel.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I've a pivot like this&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Supplier&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Purchase_2012&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Purchase_2011&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; References&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;aaaa&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 12345&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; 456577&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; C1 -- C2 -- C3&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Supplier, Purch_2012 and Purch_2011 are dimensions, Refrences is an expression&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I export to Excel, I need to convert the "Purchase columns" (2012 and 2011) because aren't recognize as number by Excel&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;How can I define these columns as number avoiding any kind of conversion in Excel ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks in advance&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;stefan&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;You can set the formatting on the Number tab of the properties screen. If you set this to the appropriate format then the export to excel should work correctly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

My values are calculated dimensions (by aggr)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;and it isn't possible to assign the format by the number tab. I tried to use the "num" function but without success.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;You're right. Dimensions will be exported to excel as text. I think the only thing you can try is use a macro to export to excel and then have the code set the formatting in excel too. Fortunately &lt;A _jive_internal="true" href="https://community.qlik.com/people/rebeccad"&gt;rebeccad&lt;/A&gt; has already created a &lt;A _jive_internal="true" href="https://community.qlik.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/2004-66062-280316-49405/Macro Example.qvw"&gt;macro that does this&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
