Expression within Sort of Cycle Group

I am trying to sort my cycle group by an expression value, however, it's not sorting according to the expression I put in.

I have the above graph that has the fiscal year and month name (first 3 characters). This is one of my cycles within my cycle group. Although this is the correct display, it's not sorting correctly. Below is my sorting Expression, however, it doesn't appear to be working properly. The 3rd image is an example of my Expression as a Dimension and it sorts the way I expected.

If someone can help me figure out what I am doing wrong I would greatly appreciate it.
