Multiple key fields

I'm pretty new to qlikview. I am working on a QLikView project in which I am calcualting the history of inventory for my company. I have run across a daunting problem which I do not know how to solve. I have to be able to manipulate data by the Date, Business Unit (Branch) and Item Number. All of these keys are on my 'fact table' in my star schema setup, however, I do not know how to effect the dimension tables by all three key fields. For instance, when I connect a table to find the average annual demand I used the common key of item number. This does not work though, as it must also be controlled by business unit also. I can include both fields but then I get a synthetic table and I run out of memory pretty quickly. Is there anyway to connect multiple firelds without a synthetic table?

Thanks for the help.
