Hi,

That should work just fine using th mobile device web browser but you need to set the document as Mobile in the QEMC, Documents, Server Settings. If you are planning a serious deployment to mobile devices, think of upgrading to version 10, if possible, since there are a lot of improvements to the Ajax client for mobile devices.

Hope that helps.

Miguel

Have you been prompted for user and password in the latter?

If the former, you only need to specify if you are using the default mobile folder in your server (do it, just while testing), the server address or IP, and a domain username and password that has a license assigned.

Any screenshots would help too.

Hope that helps.

Miguel

I am wondering if there is an alternative to using Safari as the web browser of choice for mobile. Is it possible to use Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox, and how does it compare to using Safari?

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

In regards of configuration, there is no difference at all. Actually, what works in your desktop browser must work in your mobile browser. Depending on the size of the screen you may need to do some layout changes to make all charts and reports fit in the same sheet, or make more sheets to improve the user experience.

I usually work with Chrome when developing, and differences with Safari or Internet Explorer (when using Ajax) are relatively small in terms of recommend one browser instead of the other. If you want 100% fidelity to what you are designing, though, use IE Plugin, that is the only client that offers complete WYSIWYG. If you already designed thinking on Ajax (no macros, few actions, no huge scroll bars in charts...) then it must display the same irrespective the browser.

Anyway, I usually test with four or five different browsers and two or three different versions of each browser to make sure the Ajax will behave likewise in all of them.

Hope that helps.

Miguel
