AIS ship tracking on QV Google maps

Hi there,

I know how to use Google maps within Qlikview.

There is a neat piece of software which tracks all ship longitudes/latitudes from all over the world

it also makes use of the google open source interface, you can find it here

This project is open source, eg. when using the right script you can use it in your own website or app, you can find the details here :

How would we be able to use this within qlikview? or as alternat is there some sort of live ship tracking list with long/lat

It would be good because when we know the ship number we would be able to put it in a variable, and after a quick reload we would be able to see our ships on a google map

Hi giobenoni,

it's an interesting project indeed, and I would like to suggest another neat solution for you. With the QlikView extension IdevioMaps you'll easily display ships at current positions, their routes, names and other facts available. See demo #3, data from Volvo Ocean Race: http://www.idevio.com/demo

We also made another demo, took us around 20 min, using a similar source of coordinates. You display and make selections with e.g. ship types, name, speed in kts, country code. Their current positions are update when reload.

Hi Lisa,

I am trying to build same maps for ships tracking.

Can you please help me with what are prerequisites for creating such maps. Also if you can share some sample application like the one image which you have attached.
