Leasing License from server in seperate domain

Hi All,

can someone help, give me a point in the right direction.

I have an install of QV server 10 (small business I think). I would like to be able to develop on my Personal edition using a leased named license from that server.

Problem is ther server is in a different domain to my PC (no trust relationship). I can rdp to the server and have a local log on to it so I can mange the server.

How can I lease a license to my PC?

Options are NT authority (assume this passes through my local machine logon details)

Anon don't want to allow

Alternate - when I select with the user ID and password that I use to rdp (also works as web page) I get a message saying "Connected ok, Security settings deny access"

A few checks upfront...

- Do you have the option "Allow license lease" turned on in the Management Console?

- Does your User ID have a Named Call asigned?

Hi Dimitri,

Yes on both counts, I created a second log on, logged on to the server using rdp and leased a license using a personal edition installed there to make sure it was leasing.

OK and you get the error "Connected ok, Security settings deny access" when you choose the "open in server" option on your PC?

It sounds like your server settings are correct.

It should be something within your infrastructure.

The ie-plugin from your pc should not work aswell I think. You can test this.

If this is the case I would look into firewall settings or other network related stuff.

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact problem without knowing the full situation.

I'd pretty much come to that conclusion too, but wanted to check I

It's strange if your IE-plugin is working, because "open in server" is the same thing.

Hopefully anaybody else has another suggestion for you.

Had the same problem and it seems that allowing QV and QVConnect32 as exception to the firewall on the local machine solved it.

A separate domain shouldn't matter as I don't think qlikview cares about domain.

Are you sure port 4747 is open? and IE-Plugin is not communicating over port 80 using Tunneling? telnet IP 4747 --> Black screen?

Have you tried connecting using the IP number instead of computer name/alias
