What do you mean by variable ?

What do you want to do ?

I suggest you to have a look at example in Share Qlikview

Dear JJ,

Eg: In g_map we have a three places. In that i want it in red color which places are not sold and others in green color.

Is It possible. R u understood my question?

And I refered all other eg app.
