Hi,

I would like to incorporate a map (google or other) into my application where I can plot customer location and their total sales.

My data only has postal codes (Canada) and not longitude and lattitude information.

Does anyone know a way of geocoding my data (I have 1000's of records so manually is not really an option)

Or maybe there is even a way of getting around this and plot using postal codes?

I appreciate any advice!

I'd try to find a database of longitute and lattitude by postal code, and load that in. Without X and Y coordinates of SOME type, there is no way to plot location. QlikView doesn't know where the postal codes are in the world, so it can't just plot them with no additional information. It needs to be told where they are.

I didn't register to see exactly what was available, but on brief glance, it appeared you could download the data for free from here:

http://geobase.ca/geobase/en/index.html

Les,

After a quick search through QlikCommunity, it doesn't appear that you can use postal codes to directly interact with Google Maps. I would suggest checking out a service like http://geocoder.ca/ which offers an API that lets you look up latitudes/longitudes for certain postal codes in Canada. You could pull this data in as another data source, with the postal code field as the link between the two tables.
