The data series are in separate tables in the Qlik data manager. The date format is also different (DD.MM.YYYY and YYYY-MM-DD) - how do you recommend I proceed to plot them both onto the same plot?

Should I convert them into the same date format, or combine the two sets into one table?

Thanks for any advice.

Hi MichelKesin,

it depends on what kind of dates you got in your tables. For example, if both are Order Dates and therefore can be interpreted in the same context, i would recommend a Master Calendar that is connected to both of your e.g. Order Dates. And then use the dates in your master calendar on your line chart.

But in case these two dates can't be interpreted in the same context, e.g. Order Date and Delivery Date, then i would recommend a Canonical Calendar.

Data formats should always be unified in my opinion. Just to have standardised data formats in your app and to avoid problems while developing.

Here are two links where you can find more detailed information to these calendars to build your own opinion:

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Documents/How-to-use-Master-Calendar-and-Date-Values/ta-p/1495741

https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Design-Blog/Canonical-Date/ba-p/1463578

Let me know if it helped.

Regards,

Can
