Yes Data reduction can help with performance as when your user opens the document only the data that the user has access to will be presented. However, I have to wonder about your server since 240MB is not a very big QlikView. How much memory and CPU do you have on your server. Are there other applications running on the machine?

For what purpose is Reduce data option used in qlikview?

It is useful for improving performance of qlikview? I use qlikview file of 240 MB size... Whne number of users arre accesing QVW at a time system is slow like crazy....

So I was wondering if this option could do some kind of help

I use Reduce Data - Remove all Values whenever I want to transfer or archive my qvws (since mine are nearly as large as yours are).

I haven't had good luck with Reduce Data - Keep Possible Values. Depending on the complexity of the qvw, I've had it remove much more than it should.

Try limiting the data as much as possible in the script; remove any unused fields and take advantage of your where exists statements (I've found these changes to have the biggest impact)
