      <title>Connecting to mySQL DB over SSh</title>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi folks,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;has anyone tried connecting to a mySQL db over SSH?&amp;nbsp; I haven't found a connector that can do that easily.&amp;nbsp; I can create a tunnel using Putty, but ideally, I'd like to find a connector that does the whole thing in one go.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any ideas?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;many thanks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;George&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Wow, yes that was a long time ago - almost 10 years!&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I haven't had to do this for a while, but my vague memory was that rather than rely on an SSH connection sitting between QlikView and the mySQL server, &lt;A href="https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/using-encrypted-connections.html#using-encrypted-connections-client-side-configuration" target="_self"&gt;I installed a certificate directly into mySQL&lt;/A&gt; and connected directly this way. This method is just as secure and means you don't need to worry about the extra layer of starting Putty every time you want to load new data.&lt;/P&gt;
