How to find table columns/fields which are used in the report/dashboard?

Hi All

I am working on performance optimization of an existing QlikView dashboard. Its design is based on 3 Tier architecture and in the existing code the developer has pulled all the columns (using select *) from the input tables.

The final dashboard is quite big and complex and my first action item is to import only those table columns from input tables which are used in the charts instead of using a select * clause which is currently implemented.

Is there any way to find table columns which are not used in any of the chart or not(in dimension/expression/variable). I don't want to open one by one chart and see if it using a particular field as it will take a lot of time for analysis.

Can some one please help me out with the best way to investigate this.

@Vegar this is super useful. The tool looks very exhaustive, is there any document/user guide which explains the and features and how to understand/interpret them?

Also, just to be sure is the information extracted by this tool always 100% accurate?

Hi, I'm the author of the tool. There is no user guide for the tool. It is a QlikView app so feel free to poke around and make your own charts.

100% accuracy is not guaranteed, but experience has shown it to be reliable. I recommend you review the field recommendations and not accept them blindly. You will get the most benefit from dropping the larger fields so concentrate on those first.

I'm no longer actively maintaining it so have not tested with recent QV versions.

QSDA Pro works with both Qlik Cloud and Qlik Sense Enterprise.
