SAP BW system when connected to Qlikview application: Does qllikview work with only BW query data (as data sources) from BW system or does it get data from underlying E and F Fact tables directly? If so is there any documentation which shows this data access processes? What are the impacts if data is archived. Since archived data is moved out of BW online system, If qlikview is accessing data directly from backend tables then archived data would not be available for reporting. Is this understanding correct?

Hi Gunjan,

The SAP Connector manual describes the various methods of extracting data from BI and can be found in Qlik content. Also look for the content from Ian Crosland for extracting from infocube tables with a delta mechanism, Yes, you are correct re archived data if it's not in the BW system then the SAP connector won't be able to access it. Maybe there is another way to access this depending on how it is stored.
