You'll have to be more specific, but in general, yes, extension objects can be used to create custom visualizations using web technologies.

Yes, you could use an extension which reads the dimension for the list box and displays each item the way you're showing using HTML. I haven't seen an existing extension out there in this style so you would probably have to build it from scratch.
