Hi,

I have a report that is loading log files from a directory on different server.

when I open the document and reload it, it works fine but on I try to run and reload using the Console it shows that it runs successfully but it doesn't load any new data!

Anybody familiar with this issue?

Well. now i know what is the issue but I don't know how to fix it.

in my script the query will look for the last file executed and load the new files.

when the query run it is not getting to the directory: SET vLogPath='X:\CallRecordsArchive\cdr\cdr*';

The directory is on a different server..

Hope anybody can help me.

Hi Badr.

Instead of using mapped drives, X for example, use UNC paths instead.

The mapped drives are mapped for your user only, not necessarily for the user that runs the publisher service.

UNC-paths look something like this:

\\serverX\shared_folder_Y\directory_z

Hi,

How about instead of using the mapped drive, use the IP (or Computer Name) of the server.

I have added the server IP as follow:

SET vLogPath='\\10.1.1.222\CallRecordsArchive\cdr\cdr*';

but that didn't work..

Can you browse to \\10.1.1.222\CallRecordsArchive\cdr\cdr* in the standard Windows File Explorer?

The server Name is AGNotes03 and the IP address is 10.1.1.222

the directory is on D:\

there is a username and password set on that server..I have them but how can I add them to the query?

Hi again.

The user who runs the publisher must automatically be able to connect to the share on AGNotes03\share_name. The publisher cannot supply any credentials the way you do when you map network drives, X:\ for example.

So you have to make sure the user has read access on the folder you want to read from and that the folder is shared on the network.

Thxs..I log to the Qlikview remotly using my username and password..

When I open the windows explorer and type \\AGNotes03\CallRecordsArchive\cdr which is where the directory ..I don't have any issue..I can see all the files

When I set the path on the query as: SET vLogPath='\\AGNotes03\CallRecordsArchive\cdr';

it doesn't load anything..

It is loading from the Qlikview document when I reload..but Not from the publisher ..

I used the following path: \\AGNotes03\CallRecordsArchive\cdr\cdr*

I wish I can understand why it is not loading any data when relaoding from the Console!

Does the user that access the file have privileges?

When you reload de qlikview document the qlikview verify the actually user on OS but when reload on server the user are other.

Verify in Group "QlikviewAdministrators" the users and give the permission for them to your file.

In the Qlikview Administrator I have three users.

I have given them permission to the file on the other server..

But still not getting it right..

When I load from the document it load the new data but when I run the task from the console it shows as run but it doesn't load the new data.

Does QlikView Server is the same version of the desktop? (x86 or 64)

I still believe it is some problem with the file access permission.

If you go into administrative tools / services, select the service "QlikView Server," Properties / Log, which is the user configured for this account? This user has configured access permissions on files?

Another test that can be done is to copy the files from "cdr" and let the local server to see if it running properly or not.

In your document, go to Document Properties and check the option "Generate Logfile".

Reload your file again and verify the log file.
