To open *.qvw file

Hi,

I have QlikView desktop application(free version) installed on my local machine on which I have already created some qvw files. I have been given to modify another abc.qvw file not created on my machine. When tried to open it, it is giving following error.

I have tried installing QlikView desktop application on another VM and open it there. First I got this dialog box

And after clicking yes and continue, it opened like this

Is there any way to open the file?

Thanks

Not a sensible one - unless you used a licenced QlikView. For the usual private usage-scenarios like learning or testing anything or similar stuff you don't mandatory need other qvw's else nearly everything of knowledge could be get from the community or some literature.

I am now using a licensed version and could open the app without any error. But it is not showing any data. My understanding was that *.qvw file itself contains the data.

Please let me know what else I need to display data here.

That the UI doesn't show any data might be caused by the fact that no data were loaded and stored in it or that you haven't the right access rights if any section access is implemented or that there are no valid expressions in the objects.

Just open the table-viewer (CTRL + T) and you will see if any tables are there and by right clicking on a table-header you could get a pre-view of the data. If nothing is there you may try to apply a reload but it will depends on many factors if it would be running successfully with your user + machine + storage/network rights.

There is no table in table viewer.

Do I need to do any change in setting of QlikView server , so that I can get qvw file with data?

It isn't directly related to server-settings else the applications needs to be reloaded and saved with the data. If this application is available within the access point it would be quite likely that there is also already a reload-task (maybe not as single task else embedded within any task-chain which means executing them may have further impacts within the environment).
