topic Aligning Objects and determining which is "base" in QlikView

Ok this has been bugging me for some time. How do you determine which object you want as your "Base" for aligning objects? It does not seem to care which you select first.

I am more familiar with Crystal Reports alignment were the last object selected is the base for formatting (Same Size aligning etc.)

I usually end up just resizing the object as close as I can when it decides to align to the wrong object. I know there has to be a better way?
