The most likely thing is going to be something in the VCP setup in your AWS environment not being correctly configured, hopefully that will help point you in the right direction with the AWS Admins. Pretty sure that is where things are likely not configured correctly here.

Hi,

I have successfully installed an SSL certificate on our on premise server (port 443)... When I carry out the same process on an AWS instance it won't work. Are there any certain inbound rules that need to be set on AWS?

The AWS AP works perfectly on port 80 - but when I switch the QMC settings to port 443 and tick the HTTPS box it wont connect.

I have even tried switching off the firewall on the AWS server - but still no luck. Any help desperately appreciated.

Many thanks,

Phil

Hello Phil,

These are the instructions that we have on how to enable https for the AccessPoint in QlikView: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000002484

It covers how to set this up using the QlikView Web Server component, though it also briefly touches on IIS.

I'm assuming you're using the QlikView WebServer.

If all the steps in this have been followed, then you may want to check the last step in the article, which can help you verify that the WebServer is starting correctly and binds to port 443.

And if that is the case, too, then it may be worth looking into the AWS configuration itself, if there are firewall/port rules there somewhere that are blocking https. I know you mentioned that you checked the firewall on the AWS server, but I am not certain if you mean the Windows firewall or any security settings directly in AWS.

/Sonja
