Is there a way to copy a user's access to another user? I have a new user and I need to grant the access same as an existing user. Currently I'm manually assigning it by going to each individual QVW and add the new user. Hope there is a faster way to do it. (Happen quite frequent)

usually we have 'user groups' for any qvw where the users in a particular user group would be having same access properties. so when a new user requires access to a qvw, we add the new user to that exsting user group.Hope that helps.

We are using DMS/Custom User and also section access in some of our QVW. If I'm not mistaken, DMS group won't work with section access. So, this method might not work for us.

Indeed, Section Access works with Users and Groups from Custom Directories too.

Just enter NTNAME values consisting of

CustomDirectoryName\CustomUserOrGroupName

where CustomDirectoryName is the name of the Custom Directory DSC you created in the QMC. Default = CUSTOM, but you can change it to anything you like.

If you use Section Access already, then why not let the Section Access information decide on who gets access to different documents? Adding a single record to your Section Access source table (or a copy of an existing record in which you change the user name) , publishing your documents to All Authenticated users and enabling Dynamic Document CAL assignment will perform a lot of tasks that you currently need to do manually in the QMC.

And after the next reload deleted users will be denied access and new users will be granted access.
