license for qlikview 8.5

Hi, Everyone,I have a problem about license. First, I have register my license to the qlikview 8.5 software. But, when close the qlikview software,why I cannot open any .qvw files anyway? Please see my attachment files. Could anyone tell me why?

I would not be surprised that the problems you are having trying to open QVW's is that the version of QlikView you are using is over 7 years old. Since QlikView 8.5, we have released 9, 10, 11, 11.2, 12 as mayor releases and loads of service releases.

Maybe it is time to consider a newer version of QlikView . You can download the QlikView 12 local client from our website for free and I would not be surprised if your license "just" works with that.

First not quite sure why you still want to use 8.5? And what the real issue is at this time.

The error "Failed to open document" seems more related to the existence of the file instead of a license issue.

Actually I have my reason to still use 8.5. The error "Failed to open document" , please see the process: First made the test file using the version 8.5 that I have registered with my license. Second close the file. Third open the file. Then come the error "Failed to open document". I donot know why.

What is that reason?

If we know that, we might be able to give you a better solution than sticking with a 7+ year old version of the software.

What type of license are you using? AFAIK Analysers (modern-day clients) had different licenses than Developers & Professionals...
