Hi,

Would like to know the flow and confirm on Active directory would be with user access and not with local access.kindly provide the flow.

My understanding is local user would be those on Qlikview for its functionality and would not be local users on the server.

The access defined at directory service connectors and the types are defined below,

Active Directory - Users within the network

Custom Directory - External networks which are linked to the default network

Configurable ODBC - Users through ODBC connection

Configurable LDAP - Users from LDAP browser

Local Directory - Users from local infra

Windows NT - users from windows directory

We are using Active directory. Can we create local users(Qlikview Developers) in Active directory

yes. you can create a group in active directory and give access to the same group in QMC.

A bit confusing. You can use AD users as qv developer, you have to just set the access right and role properly in the server.

So we would be creating QV developers as local users as service accounts in Active Directory(AD) and via QMC we would be giving access.

Yes. you are correct.

Create a service group in your active directory and search for the same group after 15 mins in QMC.

you should see the group that you have created.
