Task Failure -- Need Answer for this..............!!

Dear All

When I Run the Task (qvw) through QMC than it is getting Failed but when I am Running the Task (qvw) manually than it Runs successfully without any error.

I have Attached the Logs of the Task Failure.

Please help...............???

Could it be that the service account (server/publisher) is not part of the Section Access of that file?

Please delete task and recreate the task for QVW file.

It looks to me like the qvw file is write locked by some (possibly stopped, failed or dead) process. Can you rename the file? If you can, then the file is not locked.

Check the document log (if enabled - MyApplication.qvw.log) as it usually contains more information on why the reload failed.

Check for a qv.exe process that should not be running. You can kill this process if it is locking the file. Failing these, you may need to look at any qvb.exe processes and the server processes, but you obviously need to be more careful about killing any of these.

Thanks for the reply.

This is a Stage-2 Extractor File from which I am generating QVD's.

Since, this Stage-2 Extractor File is failing so my Final Application (qvw) which is dependent on Stage-2 Extractor is not able to get Reload and hence the data doesn't gets updated.

The Stage-2 File doesn't have Section Access in it.

2. Why the Task gets failed.... ??? It has been running smoothly for the past 2 years.

1. The File is not Write Locked as I am able to Rename the File.

2. I am afraid to kill qv.exe process as it might impact some other existing process & functionality.

Hi,

Was there any recent changes done on server?

Like antivirus instillation or some upgrades.

In case of antivirus make sure to eliminate Qlik content from scanning.

In case of upgrade. try by rolling back.

I suggest that you turn on the document log and upload that.

I assume that the publisher service account has write access to that folder.

The reason for the error will be in the Application log file not in the Distribution log.

Enable the document log, then reload again and look at the end of the document log, this should show the reason for the reload failing. The docume nt log will be saved in the same location as your QVW file and will be named xxxx.qvw.log

What is the version of server you are using.

Have you done any windows upgrade on the machine??

Thanks All for your suggestions but honestly speaking I still haven't got any Proper Solution for it.

I've seen so many Posts related to Task Failure but not a single post have been marked with correct Answer.

We cannot know what the cause of your error is without seeing the actual error details from the document log. The document failed to load so the distribution log will not show the detail of why the error occurred.

Post your document log and someone will be able to suggest a fix.
