how would you load this data into qlikview from an excel file?

it depends how you want it to be imported, the best thing that i can think of right now it to use cross table to load this excel file.

Or y cant u ass add one more column TYPE: Cars, Bikes

So that we can load the data as normal excel sheet

Ive tried the cross table function it doesnt seem to work for my requirement

is there perhaps anything to do with the Hierarchy function?

Hi,

Load twice as cross table and concatinate both table.

create dummy field type, give it value bike in one table and car in another.

The data in my actual requirement is far more complex then this... I cannot edit anything on the excel spreadsheet

Hi,

There is no other option i think, you have to hard code something to load this format.

Attached is example how to load this, you can further elaborate as per your usage.
