INSTALLATION ERROR MESSAGE

Hi experts,

till yesterday i was using windows XP and qlikview was working fine. today i formatted my sytem and installed windows 8 and downloaded the windows8 version of qlikview. However, i am getting the below error message.

'This installation package is not supported by this processor type.contact your product vendor'

any help on this?

Have you checked the system requirements document? Does your system matches the requirement?

Are you using a 32bit OS?

Good point from swuehl are trying to install 64 bit software onto a 32 bit server ?

Yes, as far as I know, QV on Win8 needs 64bit OS.

I SEE ONLY 1 version for 32 bit (windows x86 (32bit) which is dont think would be compatible with windows 8. any work around 4 this?

Hi Yousuf,

It seems strange that you have a 64 bit processor but only a 32 bit operating system. Was this a conscious decision?

You could try downloading the 32bit version of QV to see if this works for you.

From what I have heard this is the better operating system anyway - it's

certainly what I use.
