How to set folder level access to view the qlikview file?

Hi,

1. The User should have folder level access to view the qlikview file on server right?

2. how we can publish it without mounting folder to server?

Can anyone tell the method how to do so.

What is the reason for not wishing to mount the folder in the QlikView Server via QMC ?

You don´t have "folder view" in Qlikview. But you can use a resource "Category" in each document to help your user to find Qlikview Files in the Access Point.

This category needs to be setup in each document that you want to organize.

In Access Point cannot view the folder level access, you can view only each document.

IMHO your question is a little bit ambiguous. I read it like: "How can I grant users folder level access without using mounts in QMC"?

If you have a publisher, then let the publisher assign rights to documents on distribution. Much simpler.

If you don't have a publisher, set NTFS permissions on the server (nobody likes this because it's mostly the realm of domain administrators). You can use the following approach:

Make a few subdirectories in your Document Root Folder. Create folders according to target groups.
Disable permission inheritance for each subdirectory.
Set access rights for each individual subdirectory to your Administrators and the QV service account (Full Control) and for every user/group that needs access to the documents (Read & Execute)
Now distribute all documents to these folders. A document can reside in only one subdirectory.
Make sure that all documents inherit the permissions from the containing subdirectory.

Delete the tasks fior any document you move around. Recreate them afterwards. The same applies to Doc CALs. Move any existing shared and meta files together with the document.
