Users can't create objects of their own on browser

Client Can't Create Server Object.

I use IE plugin. It allows to create a new sheet in an application through browser. If I right click on the sheet, it shows me 'Create New Sheet Objects'. But when I choose to create any object from the options, browser gets hanged; I can't create an object on the rowser. I have read in this community that, new objects can't be created on the browser, however, one can copy an object and make changes in that object. Here too, I face issues, if I right click and try to select 'properties' of the copied object, gets hanged.

Can anybody kindly shed light on it?

Hiii,

You can apply following settings on the QMC.

In Document tab checkmark the option "Allow creation of server Objects"

Hope this will work.

Hi,

In Qlikview Desktop do this

Settings -> Document Properties -> Security -> Uncheck

Add Sheet Objects

Copy/Clone Sheet Objects

Select Apply To All Sheets - So that it is applied for all tabs.

My suggestion is uncheck all the options.

Thanks Jagan. All are checked and still no luck. I am afraid if this has something to do with version (may be bug) with qv 11.20.1.. or IE.

Anyway, can you please try the same in your environment and let me know how it behaves? If client can CREATE a new chart or not on browser. Or, is it that client can only copy/clone objects and modify it by accessing properties?.

Appreciate your help.

Hi Amit,

Usually I do this while publishing,

Settings -> Document Properties -> Security -> Uncheck

Add Sheet Objects

Copy/Clone Sheet Objects

Select Apply To All Sheets - So that it is applied for all tabs.

Also try,

Settings -> Sheet Properties -> Security -> Uncheck

Add Sheet Objects

Copy/Clone Sheet Objects

Select Apply To All Sheets - So that it is applied for all tabs.

I thought you meant 'CHECK', but now you emphasis on 'UNCHECK'. After doing this have you checked if you can create an object in the browser ? Please let know.

But I want it otherwise. Client should be able to create objects of their own.

Hi,

Then Check all the options in both

Document & Sheet Properties -> Security -> Check ALL

and in QMC

In Document tab checkmark the option "Allow creation of server Objects"

Which QV version are you running?

Server objects resides in the shared files and there have been issues with them in early 11.2 SRs.

I would check release notes on 11.2 SR4 and also call/email QlikTech.

Ok, I don't have the actual link here but you should be able to find release information on the community here. However you should at least be running SR3 as mentioned above the early 11.2 was not an exact upgrade of version 11 I don't think these were fully merged until SR2 or 3. Have you tried to create objects in the Ajax client?

Run into the same problem with QV client.

Checked on 11.2SR4, 11.2SR5.

When attempting to create objects while under "Open In Server" Program crashes.

Checked on 11SR2 - workes fine.
