new installation --- need some help

Hello

I was just able to install a new qlikview server v11.

I need to schedule a few tasks , but I do not know how to link my qvw to my server so I can schedule them to run.

Please help. thanks!

I would check here to see if this will help you. I would recommend you contact your account manager to schedule training.

Thanks for the pointer.

I am seeing the qvs is not working.

in the event viewer I see the following error:

System.Exception: Failed to retrieve document list from the specified QVS

at QMSBackendCore.Service.ServiceImpl.GetUserDocumentList(Guid qvsID)

at QMSBackendCore.Service.ServiceImpl.Diagnostics.CacheDocumentAvailable()

I restarted the services it is still not working. I used the local administrator, not working either.

help!!

Looking at your image the QVS is running but it is off Duty. This can be caused by using the same license on more that one server.

My 50 cents on how I addressed my issue and for documentation purposes.

I had the same issue with an exception on Event Viewer:

System.Exception: Failed to retrieve document list from the specified QVS

at QMSBackendCore.Service.ServiceImpl.GetUserDocumentList(Guid qvsID)

at QMSBackendCore.Service.ServiceImpl.Diagnostics.CacheDocumentAvailable()

I noticed that QlikView service properties (in services.msc) has the Log On option to authenticate the user. In my case I was using a domain user that could only be authenticated with network communication on. Once the authentication was able to work the Server got connected. A workaround for this is to have a local user instead of a network/domain one.
