Question on Upgrade from version 11.0 to 11.2 SR1

Hello there!

This is my first QlikView upgrade task and I will be upgrading Qlikview Server from version 11.00.11271 to the latest version 11.2 SR1.

After reading section 4 "Upgrading from Previous versions" I feel somehow confused (Release Notes for 11.2 SR1).

Here is why:

In section 4.1 QlikView Desktop, it says:
"To upgrade, previous versions of QlikView need not be uninstalled".

Then, at the bottom of the page, section 4.2.3 From QlikView 11, it says:

"It is recommended to uninstall earlier versions of QlikView 11 before installing Qlikview 11.2"

Since I will be upgrading the QlikView Server, I should remove the previous version 11.0, is that correct?

I better be safe than sorry... Can someone who's been thru the process please clarify?

I've done it more than once at several clients' premises

all you have to do is to stop the QlikView services

then you run the setup file of the latest version that you want to upgrade to

the setup will detect that a previous version exists, and there is a check box that indicates to the setup to uninstall previous version

Licensing information and settings are saved by default when QlikView Server is removed. They are applied to any subsequent installation of QlikView Server on the system.

then click next, next ,next,...

and you're done

just restart the server machine and you are up to date

I need to upgrade the Qlikview 11 SR1 to Qlikview 11.2 SR6.

And I need install the Qlikview server on one machine and qlikview publisher on another machine.

In this case QMC setting and License information will be saved by default.

and will be existing tasks in Qlikview publisher after intallation?

Hi Kabilan - Did you upgrade the server to SR5 or SR6. Can you share if you just unistall everything and installed new version or any other step involved, thanks

I upgraded the qlikview froe 11.0 SR1 to 11.2 SR6,

and I didn't uninstall the previous version, just I double clicked the exe file just choose modify and new version got updated.

Just ran the exe file and it got upgraded successfully thanks Kabilan!!!!
