We are using IE-8 for AJAX clients but is too slow. So we are planning to run AJAX client on google chrome plugin in IE. Basically the client launches in IE but runs on google chrome framework in the background. We have tested this and the performance is much better. Question is, do anyone else do something similar? If so are there any drawbacks or issues of using chrome plugin in IE for QlikView clients? Any other option for IE slowness?

Hi,

You won't have some trouble using Chrome Plugin in IE because you'll use Chrome framework.

But why don't you install the Chrome Client on your user's desktop ?

You could set AccessPoint as Start Page and change the icon to put the QV icon. It's just an idea...

Martin Favier

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the response. Would you be able to tell what are the issues using chrome plugin?

How about using QV plugin ( that comes with QV server install - V11) ? Any issues there?

Ahiraj Yavagal

In the last it would break the AccessPoint. You would get an error when you tried to view the AccessPoint.

I was never able to test the plugin with it being installed. The reason was not being able to connect to the AccessPoint.

Bill
