Alert mail after reload not working

We are using qlikview ver 10, No publisher.

I have a document that is scheduled to reload data on a weekly basis.

We need to send email alert if the reload fails.

I tried to configure the mail server

1. We are using Microsoft Online services.. Can we use this for setting up email?

2. I tried to set up SMTP using gmail account. The gmail server requires "SSL" to be set to true. How can we configure that in the Mail Server Setup?

3. I tried to send mail through a Macro in "OnPostReload" trigger. The macro works in the QV desktop client reload, but mail is not sent when reload is through the server or through batch cmd. I have used /r in batch command.

Please help me to resolve this.

If you need SSL you need to look into using an extra tool like stunnel.

Yahoo mail does not require SSL. You have to pay to get that. I have an account that I use for this.
