Hi All,

I have successfully implemented SSL using QVS 11 with IIS.
Please suggest what need to be done to redirect http://xxxx to https://xxxx

When user types http://xxxx it should redirect to https://xxxx

You can use IIS redirector for this. See if this will help you..

Hi Aarohi,

As a stated above, there is not way to redirect with QVWS, you will need to use IIS.

I have figured that we are using IIS.

QlikView 11.2 SR10

I am having so many questions since past few days regarding the process of converting http to https. Hoping that you would help me with the questions and process please.

1. I am having only the following 5 services. Not having the 'QlikView WebServer ' service. Not sure if it is mandatory to have 'QlikView WebServer ' service or 'QlikView Settings service' will do the work that 'QlikView WebServer ' service does. Having this question because, in many posts I read, I understood that we have to restart the 'QlikView WebServer ' service after changing the Port number.

2. I am using the attached document as reference for activating https. (Found it on community)

Can you please tell me which are the steps that I need to follow from this document.

Certifactes are created by other team in our workplace. My question, once the certificate is created, where am I suppose to import it to? (IIS Manager--> Server certificate--> Actions--> Import)

3. Once done with binding for port 443, how to remove port 80 binding?

4. I was not sure until which step am I suppose to follow, all the steps till the end of the document? Or is it giving different options to follow?

Please let me know of any suggestions you have for me.

Hi,

Do you have a SSL Certificate? If so you would installed it using the MMC plugin for Certification. Do you have someone on your IT team to help you with that?

Hi Bill,

Yes, our Infrastructure team would create a Certificate Authority generated Certificate which can be used for enabling SSL. Once I have the certificate, I have to work on the next steps. Not sure where to begin . Please advise

I have the certificate ready. Please advise on next steps.

I tried to understand the steps mentioned in the attached doc. Since I have the certificate, I need to follow the doc from step 3.1: Configuring IIS to use SSL.

Only 2 points I did not understand is:

4.1: point #7. After stopping the QlikView Settings service, we need to start the QlikView Webserver. I do not have QlikView webserver, I have only Qlikview Settings srvice
Is generating a unique GUID mandatory? or is there any other alternative for this?

I have successfully implemented the process(using the doc attached in my previous post) to convert http to https. Both AccessPoint and QMC are working on https.

But, there is still an issue which exists:

I have changed the URLs for the QlikView Distribution Service, Directory Service Connector and QlikView Web Service in the QlikView Management Console to use HTTPS .

I made sure that the services are all connected and display the green icon and show Running in the Status column.

But, when I click on the new https links in all the above mentioned service in QMC, I am getting an error saying : 'This site might be using unsupported protocol or ciphers such as RC4'

Any suggestions on this please?

Also,

I wanted to know, in what scenarios do we use these links and why?

I am not redirecting the URL to https.

I have configured Qlikview services to use SSL for communication and all the services in the status shows running. But when I click on the URL in the QMC available for QlikView Distribution Service, Directory Service Connector and QlikView Web Service , I am getting the error saying unsupported protocol or ciphers .

(QMC--> System--> Setup)

Please advise.

I am currently in the process of gathering the documentation to convert http to https for both Access Point

and QMC.

Can you please help me on this; as I have read that you have successfully implemented the process.

I did find the several documents and after going through all I got stuck in between Enable SSL - QlikView Webserver and QlikViewAndIIS.docx‌...documents. Initially I have implemented the mentioned steps in my Server but only able to open the Access Point by using https but not the QMC.... not sure what exactly I am missing or doing wrong here.

Could you please send me the exact steps that you have followed and please note that I have the QlikView Webserver Service.
