Looking for QVW Self-extractor

At one time there was a "QVW Self-Extractor" that could be packaged with a qvw file so that a "packaged qvw" could be sent to someone who did not have QlikView Desktop installed but would allow the person to "view the qvw" without do a software install, something like the viewers that Microsoft used to distribute for Excel or Word.

Does such a self-extractor exist? Or a similiar capability?

Hi Daniel,

I believe that what you want is available in the Menu Tools -> Create Executable.

With this you can create an .exe which contains the qlikview app to distribute to whom you want.

Just one piece of advice, if the app references images you should bundle them (via script).

My menu for Tools (v10 SR4) does not have a Creatre Executable.

Is there something I need to configure to have this command available?

Hm, i'm sure i've seen it before somewhere in a screenshot, but i also don't have it available.

Searching the forum it's said that only QlikTech can do it.

Yes, it's based on special license keys, which is normally not distributed. If you have one of the QVW needs to be converted to EXE, you may contact QlikTech and them may do it for you.
