Pseudo URL and IE 7- problem with popup window

Hi all

I am facing an issue with Pseudo URLs, I am using the following structure

qvp://ServerUser@QVserver.com/QvwFile.qvww?USERID=QVUserId&QVPassword=
ABC123

When I use IE 8, it works porperly, I get a popup window asking for the password for ServerUser, but I am afraid my enduser has IE 7, and I he does not get the pop up window, just a "connection refused" error from html because it tries to open the application without asking for the server credentials.

I already checked on IE options: popup blocker, security tab and advanced options tab comparing their options and I do not find what could cause this issue;
