Hi all,

When i am trying open document from accesspont - it's giving error "Error Message: Object expected | Error Number:-2146823281" but the same document i accessed before. But now error is coming...any suggestion what could be wrong.

Hi,

can you give more details? How do you open the document? Download, IEPlugin, Java, Ajax? Is there a macro in the document? Which version?

I am trying open the document in Internet explorer(IE 7). Download & AJAX are allowed clients to the document. No macros in the document..I opened the document almost weekly twice. when i am trying open today - it's giving error message.

Does the error also occur when you download the document or open it with AJAX? Still: what version of QlikView are you running?

Thanks Joachim for looking problem.

When i download the document - Error is not coming. Error is coming when we open with only AJAX. i am using Qlikview 8.5 version.

OK, then it's possible that the cause lies in the web server and might have nothing to do with the qvw itself. Are you using IIS or the QlikViewWebServer? Have you already checked the logs of the webserver resp. the QlikViewServer logs?

I am using IIS. i restarted IIS and try to open document still same error message.

What do the logs say (QlikViewServer, IIS, Eventlogs)? My suspicion goes to security settings of IE (these could easily be altered from one day to the other). Don't know what exactly but perhaps JavaScript is blocked or ActiveX is blocked or whatsoever. Could you check this and perhaps make IE "unsafe" ? Just an idea.

My guess also same but i am sure nothing changed security settings. I will verify once agin all the mentioned points .i will check the logs & i will post if any new messages. Thanks Joachim for answering my question.
