QlikView Logs

Hi Community,

I have a client with multinode server and I can't find the log that is written when the server is restarted, I need to validate that a script that runs every week to restart the server is working okay. Could someone plese let me know where this log is?

I thought it was C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikView but is not there.

Hello ,

Usually in a multinode ienviroenemnt, the logs are redirected to a shared location. Check in the QMC > System > Qlikview Server > Logging (tab) for a redirected location.

But I can't see anything written when the server is restarted, Do you know what is the log and descrition to confirm that the server was restarted?

we have server 1 and server 2

QMC is in server 1 and AP in server 2

The log I found is in Server 2, It's the only server that it's been restarted? If server 1 is restarted I should have a log in the server too?

Hello @pasgalbarra ,

You are asking if the Service is restarted or the server?

If asking for the QlikView Server service, then this is also logged on the Event and Audit logs if the audit is also enabled. As per your image seems was not.

Such, should be on each node when the service is restarted.

Plus, instead of using the C drive for each machine, you could use a share path for the logs and store all of them at the same location.

Hello @virajjuniyal ,

Please, clarify if server restart or service restart.

For the server reboot it should be mentioned on the Windows Event logs.

Also notice the service will start again when a server is reboot.

Kindly add more details on the specific information you are looking for.

Hi,

If the servers are cluster it would be a network share. In the QMC the local will be listed as in the image below.

If the path there is not a shared folder, the log would only be for the server that has Qlik Engine installed, right? but if it's a shared folder, both servers would write logs, correct?

Hi,

That is correct, if the setting is C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\QlikViewServer then it will be on each server. However, this isn't the best setup.

If the service is restarted you will see in the event logs:

700 Information CNTService: Start to stop the service ...

700 Information CNTService: Service terminated.

700 Information CNTService: The service (QlikViewServer) was started.

On the performance logs these messages:
