Performance questions based on QlikView QMC settings

QMC - Setup - Logging setting.
Can you elaborate on what the settings below do?
1. Logging
2. Event Log Verbosity
3. Split Files

Will changing the above settings affect performance?
For example, when changing from low to high or so.

Please answer.

The log file verbosity should not have much impact on performance.

I don't think anyone have tested this to get exact values. But in my experience, the logging itself has never been an issue.

But I would divide the logs daily so they don't get to big, and its much easier for trouble shooting.

HI,

Any time you change the logging to a higher value, it will affect performance so. However, sometimes the small increase in performance can same you a lot of time when you have an issue.

If you have logging set to low and you have an issue, the problem may not be captured in the logs. You then have to increase logging and want for it to happen again.

Hi @qwebnm,

I agree with Maria that QVS Event log verbosity level should have a very low impact on performance, if any at all. You can always change the logging level to lower verbosity if you wish.

FYI, Qlik Support article Best setup setting for QlikView Server logging provides an overview on how to best set up QlikView service logging when looking for root causes of disturbances.
