i have created a stacked chart that is grouped by month ie(Jan to Dec)

the column is stacked in departments and the value is the sum of costs,

the demnsions are Months and depts

the expresion is Sum(Costs)

i would like to add a line for the budget to the chat grouped by months

any ideas please?

You could add a Reference Line with a expression for your budget.

thanks for reply,

reading about reference lines, they appear to flat lines with one value.

the line i am tryying to create would change month to month as the set budget changes.

i entered an expression sum(Value) which is the budget value for each month

is this posible?
