I put a qvw file that is a crude demonstration of how to set up place holders for visual cues by manipulating sheet properties and objects. You just need to basically adjust the 'General' and 'Layout' tabs in the properties of the sheet and/or object to achieve what you are trying to do. If you don't know how to manipulate all the different aspects of those settings, I'd suggest either looking at the tutorial/training videos that Qlikview has made public and/or just look at the relevant areas in the Reference Manual - also, the 'Help' button is a great resource if you don't recognize something.

You will have to expand on the "dimension of a qlikview document" because I'm not clear as to what you are referring.

Hope that helps.

Use visual cues like the size, shape, position, color, etc. along with consistency of your sheet objects to define what will look like 3 sections (Columns). Its not quite the same as doing, say Web Design where you create 'place holders' as positions, so you have to do a semi slide of hand to make it appear with as though it is in effect.

Hope that helps.

I want a template wich should be divided into three parts : left side for filters, center for charts and objects and top for tabs. I am unable to open your qvw file as I am using a personal edition. Is there any other way I can see the file other than the repair option. Or can you provide me a source where I can read stuff abou this.

thanks.

In regards to setting the dimensions on the development for the ipad, I'd use the same approach.

Meaning, I'd do trial and error with the layout of the 'frames' (or look up something comparable) until you know at what point the ipad will cut off the field of view.

By doing that, you can then size your 'frames' accordingly so that you know in development with your objects, etc. not to exceed that line/color which you setup as a visual cue of your maximum limit i.e. dimension.

There is no script so you wouldn't be missing anything there, but the only place that would suffer slightly is the simple ability to explore the properties settings of the objects. I summarized them in screen shots on the second sheet of the two, so if you are okay with that then I'd be glad to post them.
