Hi All,

We have a server with some qlikview licneces, where we have installed the qlikview server and desktop client

But the qlikview desktop license is as personal edition

How to update open the qvw and edit file

When open qvw document, show me this message

To lease a licence from server, open your first document via File-->Open in server-->qvp://Your_ServerName and choose any qlikview file that resides on that server.

This will lease you a licence.

Next time you don't have to go through this process again.

You need to open any qlikview file from any of the folders in your screenshot.

Then close the file...even the Qlikview.

Then open any Qlikview document either by clicking on the document or File-->Open-->.

The QlikView License Leasing Technical Brief will have all of the information you need. Ensure that port 4747 is open on the client so that it can communicate via QVP protocol to the QlikView Server and ensure that the QlikView Server you are attempting to lease the license from is not a TEST server. License leasing is not allowed from test servers.

Please make sure you use the Production licenses to lease.

You have to use the IP address of the server on which Prod licenses are used.

File->Open in Server : qvp://Production IP address
