Splitting Qlikview Services among different Machines

Hello Experts,

I have a cluster Server license and one publisher license.

As of now, the setup is as follows:

Machine 1: Server+Publisher - All QV services up

Machine 2: Server - IIS and QVS are up

All my reloads are scheduled on machine 1.

Now I need to move my reloads to Machine 3.

Please suggest how the splitting would be done and which machine should have which licenses

First question - have you got sufficient processors and memory in the various machines for the moves you are proposing?

Just move Publisher to you new machine.

Yes, the new machine is the replica on existing production servers.

can the publisher license be applied with a server license?

wouldn't I need a server license on the new machine?

Publisher and server have separate licences. You should be able to see both in your QMC.

... and licences are applied at the QMC level not server level so all should be ok.

If you are worried then double check with whoever you bought your licences from.

Bill, I understand these are two different licenses, but my question was can I apply only publisher license without applying any server license. If its not too much trouble, could you please explain in the below format

Machine1 - which services and licenses?

Machine2 - which services and licenses?

Machine3 - which services and licenses?

Just mentioned Server & Publisher :

Machine1 - Server
Machine2 - Server
Machine3 - Publisher

... and licence via QMC

For your other services leave them where they are.
