Performance optimisation

Hi,

Our QVW file size is vary huge.And giving slow response time.Is has having too many complex aggr functions on chart level as well.

I am sharing performance document analyzer file for our application can you please suggest where should we go ahead to optimize the performances.

Hi,

From summary tab, it shows you have 127MB of unused fields in the dashboard. You can remove those. Find the below.

Click the Objects tab, and sort the calc time. You will come to know which object is consuming more calc time. Eg

From the above information, go to the object id CH30, pivot table and check the expressions.

If you have many expressions, disable one by one and check which expression is consuming more calc time from the sheets tab, on the document properties.

All those fields has been dropped already can you please tell me is there any difference between dropping fields and commenting out or removing the fields the unused fields.

There are fair few Calculated Dimensions.

You could maybe look at sorting them in the script.

Pivot table CH30 would be the first dashboard object I would look at.

Deepak,

You can either comment or drop the unused fields. Make no difference.

But after dropping fields also i do not know why fields are showing as a unused fields in document analyzer and such kind of 127 fields are there.

Do check if these fields are used in any expression variables as Document Analyzer only finds fields that are directly used in Dimensions or Expressions, and not fields indirectly used via expressions.

Deepak,

Document Analyser gives you the list of unused fields, the chart or object which consumes more memory and helps in identifying which expression have complex expression.

Based on this information, you have to explore the dashboard and find out the expression and identify or replace with suitable lighter expressions.

Performance improvement can be done at many levels, UI,script level,server level.

Not just removing the unused fields will improve the performance.

Untill unless exploring the dashboard, cannot say where to improve the performance in your dashboard.

however, general information about performance tuning and best practices are attached with this.

Ensure yourself, and experiment it on your dashboard.
